Every one has standard dual-motor all-wheel drive and 225 horsepower, and Nissan targets 38 mpg combined, about 9 mpg more than the gas-powered Rogue with all-wheel drive.
Most hybrids mix a gas engine and electric motors to turn the wheels. The 2027 Nissan Rogue Hybrid doesn't. Its 1.5-liter turbocharged engine only generates electricity, and two electric motors, one on each axle, do all the driving. Nissan says it is the only hybrid in its class with a 100% electric drivetrain. There's no transmission to shift, so acceleration is smooth and immediate, much like an electric vehicle. But there's nothing to plug in: you fill it at any gas station on Transit Rd, the same as any other SUV.

The gas Rogue keeps two advantages. It has a little more cargo room (31.6 cubic feet behind the rear seat and 74.1 folded, against the Rogue Hybrid's 31.1 and 65.9), and its lower price will matter more to low-mileage drivers than the fuel savings will. If you drive a lot of Niagara County miles, from Newfane and Wilson to Niagara Falls and back, the Rogue Hybrid's efficiency adds up faster. Nissan's targeted 38 mpg and the 14-gallon tank work out to roughly 530 miles between fill-ups.
The 2027 Nissan Rogue Hybrid comes in three grades: SV, SR and Platinum. The standard 12.3-inch touchscreen has wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the available 14.3-inch screen adds Google built-in with Google Maps and Google Gemini. Every grade has a 15-watt Qi2 magnetic wireless charger, which Nissan calls class-exclusive, and ProPILOT Assist 2 with Intelligent Cruise Control. e-Pedal lets you slow to a full stop just by lifting off the accelerator. The Rogue Hybrid tows up to 1,500 pounds and runs on regular unleaded.

The first Rogue Hybrid models to reach Nissan dealers this fall are the SR AWD with SR Technology Package, at $41,490 before destination. The SV, SR and Platinum grades go on sale in early 2027. Every 2027 Nissan Rogue Hybrid has standard all-wheel drive, a Snow drive mode, heated front seats, heated side mirrors and remote engine start with Intelligent Climate Control, so you can warm the cabin before you walk out to it. The SV and Platinum grades also have a standard heated steering wheel, and on the SR it comes with the SR Technology Package. Ground clearance is 8.4 inches on the SV and 8.5 inches on the SR and Platinum. As with any SUV, all-wheel drive helps you get moving on snow, but winter tires are what help you stop.
A few honest limitations. The 38 mpg figure is Nissan's target from its own testing, and EPA ratings weren't published when Nissan announced the vehicle. The Rogue Hybrid comes with a tire repair kit rather than a spare tire. Because it doesn't plug in, it isn't eligible for New York's NYSERDA Drive Clean Rebate. If you want a rebate and some all-electric driving, the Rogue Plug-in Hybrid qualifies for $500. And because it's brand new, you can't test drive one here quite yet.
